Meet Robert
Robert is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) based in Greenville, South Carolina and a proud member of the Kennington Counseling team. He attended West Virginia University where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Montana State University.

Rob’s Approach
Rob works with individuals, couples, and families. He implements a strength-based approach which draws from evidence-based practices and proven counseling theories that are tailored to the needs and goals of everyone he meets with. He excels in using a collaborative approach which meets each person who comes into his office where they are currently at in their life, allowing for a healthy and positive counseling relationship, which has major significance for therapeutic progress. His adaptability and versatility allow him to work with a wide range of clientele. This includes couples navigating their relationship, families seeking mental health support within their family system, and individuals within many stages of development such as late adolescence, young adults, and those navigating the challenges of every-day life.
Robert understands the importance of providing a safe, open, and non-judgmental space where his clients can be true to themselves and their values. Above all else, he is highly committed towards being an advocate for his clients and views each session as a time to explore their unique experiences and develop solutions to allow them to feel empowered after each meeting.
He has a strong background in the mental health field, where he previously served as a crisis stabilization worker, case manager, and volunteer youth mentor during and after his undergraduate years in Montana. While in each of these roles, Robert recognized the importance of mental health counseling and developed a deep personal interest for pursuing a career in this field. While at WVU, Robert served as a Graduate Counseling Intern, meeting with a diverse client population with a wide range of backgrounds and mental health concerns. His motivation towards helping others and emphasis on the importance of mental health is what drives his passion of serving as a counselor.
